Rules: The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions/statements about himself or herself. At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
Ten years ago:
All my children were at school - the youngest started in September 1997. I completed my rotation in the Public Health Unit, started in a new job in research at the University, completed my Master in Public Health degree (awarded with Distinction). Our congregation was enjoying a new minister with refreshing creative ideas. I had been living in the capital for over a year and just beginning to feel that it was home.
Five things on today's "to do" list:
Oh it is so good to be doing this at night and to be able to say they have all been done :-)
- Complete second draft of lit review on serious child injury and death from assault
- Review papers on competencies in indigenous health for meeting tomorrow
- Mend broken chair
- Hang laundry out to dry
- Buy fish for dinner and ingredients for next two days 'healthy eating' programme
If I truly was a billionaire I think I would probably do much the same things, but with more options open. Eat, walk, pray, think, work, care, wash, dress, play. Have guests over for dinner but maybe buy in the food ready made. Speed up the medium term plans including buying the dream beach house. Travel to Europe and spend a weekend in Prague with my beloved. Revisit Inverness and Bath and tread in the footsteps of my foremothers and fathers.
But it would also be great to be able to invest in finding sustainable solutions to the crisis of our planet. To provide for the Pacific Nations who will soon have no homeland. To contribute to microcredit schemes and foster ongoing sustainability.
Three bad habits:
Saying yes when I would be better to say no
Making plans but not following through
Accumulating clutter
Five places I've lived:
Te Ika a Maui, Te Wai Pounamau (North and South Islands of New Zealand), India, California (only four weeks but we certainly did a lot of living in that time), Australia.
Five jobs I've had:
Babysitter
Christian Bookshop attendant
Nurse Aide
Psychiatry Registrar
Public Health Physician
I don't really know anyone well enough to tag at this stage (and admit to a bit of discomfort about the process) so I will just leave it here for now :-) But of course if anyone who reads this wants to play - consider yourself tagged!
