Spring equinox

Walking back home across the Parramatta River today I was struck forcibly by the presence of Spring. As we approach the equinox I'm turning Songbird's Friday Five on its head and celebrating the southern season:

As this vivid season begins, tell us five favorite things about spring:

1) A fragrance - jasmine

2) A color - bright green

3) An item of clothing - white linen jacket

4) An activity - walking with joy (not specific to the season but definitely part of it)

5) A special day - today. September 19th. Anniversary of women's suffrage in NZ. And newly discovered as International Talk Like a Pirate day. And this very day has been a delight in many ways.

I LOVE spring! Can I come live with you for a season? Fall makes me sad as it ushers in the winter season. I don't suppose you have snow there?

I'm so glad you played! It's lovely to think of spring and fall coming at the same time.

Gasp!

Jasmine and white linen! You'll be having quite an elegant spring.

(And thanks for the reminder... ARG!)

Not much of a pirate person, but I do love having fun. Thanks for the turnabout fall.

I'll make up a spare bed PC. No snow but it does get quite cold (one or twp frosts) in July. Thanks to all of you for your early morning/late night visits.

Enjoy the spring! I'm not absolutely sure we even have jasmine in Maine, but in spring I usually go to South Carolina for a week with old friends and jasmine by the door. A lovely scent! (And I will imagine you elegantly walking in your white linen jacket!)

Wasn't New Zealand the first country to grant women suffrage? That's what my memory is telling me, but I'm not going to look it up.

Have a great spring.

Yes indeed Ruth. Scroll down my blog a bit and you'll find the details. I am enjoying the blooms and blossoms of spring. We just bought a jasmine vine so it's still tiny but very fragrant. I'm not often called 'well-adjusted Sally. Thanks :-)
